Imagine a world without chemistry and chemical
engineering - we'd still be in the Middle Ages!
Indeed, without their earlier stages, civilization
would still be stuck in the Stone Age.
Chemistry and Chemical Engineering are still crucial
professions. The chemist is involved in designing and
building at a molecular level -drugs, polymers for
fiber optics, better paints better fabrics. The
chemical engineer designs and builds the equipment and
process required to handle and produce these materials
-refineries, reactors, pipe lines, equipment for food
production. Together the chemist and the chemical
engineer form a great team.
Program Outline
To obtain an integrated understanding of chemistry and
its industry, both at the molecular level and in terms
of its engineering, processes and technology, an
integrated curriculum is essential. Our academic
configuration, in which chemical engineers and
chemists work alongside each other is deal for this
purpose.

CHEMISTRY, TECHNOLOGY &
DESIGN - BEng
The BEng in Chemistry, Technology and Design is based
on the MEng program and leads to a Bachelor's rather
than a Master's degree. Again, the integration of
disciplines is maintained, as is the emphasis on the
importance of design of processes and their
evaluation.
Transfer to the MEng program is possible, for those
whose performance is of the right standard, as is
transfer from the MEng to the BEng program if student
wish.
